I understand that the first step in Twelve Step Programs is to admit you have an addiction. My name is Diana and I have a Fair Isle Addiction. Although through the years of my knitting life I have been able to overcome my addiction and knit other projects, it has come back with a vengeance. I'm hooked. It started this fall with my WATER FOR ELEPHANT socks. I couldn't stop. My Fair Isle Addiction had taken hold of me. I found a recipe for MY FAVORITE THINGS SCARF on ravelry. Like all addicts I thought," A little bit more Fair Isle won't hurt. I can control this. I need to knit this for a Christmas gift." Oh, the lies we tell ourselves to justify our behavior. I spent hours looking at and collecting colorwork charts. I mastered the "two-handed method" so I could work my charts more efficiently. I lost myself in creation. I stayed up late to finish just one more chart! The joy I felt as I gazed at my masterpiece of color. I was a painter of yarn. [caption id="attachment_2258" align="aligncenter" width="225"] Casey's Favorite Things[/caption] I left other projects unfinished and discarded. I had no shame!!! I knitted everywhere I went and proudly displayed my work without hesitation. See below some of my favorites. I must confess... I must be a Fair Isle Enabler! So get your Fair Isle on! Happy Knitting!!!
