I love to knit outdoors...I know it's weird, but it's true. I learned to knit (for a girl scout badge) during summer vacation when I was 10 yrs. old . This early experience may have imprinted me with a love for outdoor knitting. Surely someday, someone will research this odd behavior. However, in the meantime I will continue to knit in both public and private -outdoors! Here is one of my favorite places to knit: [caption id="attachment_1860" align="aligncenter" width="300"] The porch at THE NEST[/caption] Often when customers enter my shop I ask, "Are you a knitter?" I frequently hear the reply, " Yes, but only in the winter." I think to myself, "You don't know what you're missing." Another element of outdoor knitting that I love is the fact there are only interruptions from the birds, frogs or dragonflies. I can really relax and enjoy the peaceful rhythm of my needles. Summer knitting gives me time to knit small gift projects. Baby hats and sweaters made of soft cotton top my list this year. And finally, knitting outside gives me time to enjoy the company of my favorite friends! Happy summer knitting OUTDOORS!
