Sitting in THE NEST last week I was made aware of the role I fill in many of my customers' lives. Mendi jokingly called me "Coach". She had started beginning knitting and learned the basic knit stitch. However, ambitious and creative as she is, she decided to skip on to making the bobbles featured in the Astrid Scarf. Although in my heart I was skeptical, I encouraged her by saying, " You can do anything you put your mind to". [caption id="attachment_1522" align="aligncenter" width="225"] Astrid Scarf[/caption] After all, who am I to limit a knitter's dreams? Incredibly, she did it ! (with a little help from youtube and her "coach") I like the idea of being a knitting coach. It sure sounds better than "KNITTING NAZI"! Being a coach allows me to gently guide knitters in the direction of their knitting aspirations. I might be considered the " Purveyor of Positive Knitting ". My mantra might be "If you can imagine it, you can knit it". Just think how that worked for Henry Ford! I can fulfill my high school cheerleader fantasies..." One, Two, Three, Four- Purl one and knit some more!!!!" O.k. Maybe I'm getting carried away with this coach thing. Anyway, dream your knitting dreams....fairytales can come true...with a little help from your------ knitting coach!!!
